Program Description
Filial Therapy is a powerful and historically significant approach rooted in Child-Centered Play Therapy, designed to extend the benefits of play therapy into the home. While a trained play therapist may only see a child or family periodically, caregivers have daily opportunities to connect and support their children through play. Filial Therapy empowers caregivers to become agents of healing by teaching them play therapy skills that address a wide range of challenges, including adoption-related issues and externalizing behaviors. Research consistently supports the effectiveness of training adults to use play therapy techniques in their interactions with children.
Join us as we explore the goals and methods of Filial Therapy, gain hands-on experience, and learn about tools to utilize in your practice!
