This workshop will provide clinicians with a “cheat sheet” resource guide of over 500 telehealth activities to use with children and their caregivers. Participants will be provided with the tools to navigate the telehealth resources and utilize them confidently while providing online play therapy. Many clinicians report anxiety over providing telehealth treatment, especially teleplay, to young children and their caregivers. Research supports the efficacy of play therapy via telehealth, but providers often report that they don’t have the tools to implement the treatment. This workshop will demystify the process of how to play on the screen and increase awareness of teleplay as a better option for some clients, not just a fall back during a crisis. Participants will learn not just how to use teleplay but how to love it.

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe the use of the telehealth cheat sheet to provide play therapy online

  • Identify ways to transform in-person activities to online play therapy

  • Identify strategies for accurate assessment of clients that are more appropriate for online play therapy than in person sessions

About the presenter:  

Katherine Thomas is a LMHC in Massachusetts who has embraced teleplay early in the pandemic while working at a Boston hospital and losing access to her play space. Her career has been focused on working with children and families exposed to traumatic events.

Cancellations and Refund Policy

Live Webinar Events: 

  • Cancellations will be accepted and payments refunded minus credit card processing fees up to one (2) weeks prior to any training event. 

  • Credit for a recorded webinar or future live event will be available to those who cancel up to one (1) week before the event. 

  • If the live event is recorded, registrants who cancel or no show after the 1-week deadline will automatically be provided access to the online webinar (on-demand course).    

In-person Events:  

  • Cancellations will be accepted and payments refunded minus credit card processing fees up to 3 weeks prior to any in-person event.  Substitutions (some else attending) or transfer of registration to another training may be requested.  No refunds or partial refunds after that date.

On-Demand Courses: 

  • Refunds, minus credit card processing fees, are available for on-demand course purchases, within 14 days of the time of purchase, if the participant has not accessed any of the course’s materials.
